Locating Charcadet in the Paldea Region
Before beginning the evolution process, trainers must first locate and catch a Charcadet. Charcadet can be found roaming various areas throughout the South, East, and West Provinces of Paldea. Because Charcadet is a relatively small target, players should keep a close watch on the ground in grassy regions.
To make the search much easier, players can eat a Pickle Sandwich to boost their Fire Encounter Meal Power before hunting. Areas around South Province Area Three frequently spawn Charcadet near the local Pokémon Center. Catching a healthy Charcadet early allows trainers to prepare for the special item gathering phase.
Gathering Bronzor Fragments for Auspicious Armor
In Pokémon Scarlet, Charcadet requires an item called Auspicious Armor to trigger its evolution into Armarouge. To obtain this armor, trainers must gather 10 Bronzor Fragments from wild Bronzor scattered around the region. Bronzor are commonly found floating near ancient ruins throughout the province zones.
Engaging in quick Let's Go auto-battles is the fastest method to defeat wild Bronzor and collect their dropped fragments efficiently. Eating meals that offer Item Drop Power for Psychic-type Pokémon further increases the efficiency of collecting these drops. Once you have accumulated at least 10 Bronzor Fragments in your bag, you are ready to make the key trade.
Trading in Zapapico to Obtain the Armor
With 10 Bronzor Fragments in hand, travel directly to the town of Zapapico located in the East Province. Head toward the center of town near the fountain where an NPC trader wearing a distinct outfit is waiting. Speaking to this individual will allow you to offer your collected fragments in exchange for the sacred Auspicious Armor.
Unlike many item trades, you do not need to activate any formal quest line before approaching this trader in Zapapico. The trade can be repeated multiple times if you gather more fragments later, allowing you to obtain additional evolutionary armor items. After concluding the transaction, the Auspicious Armor will immediately be placed into your inventory's Other Items pocket.
Completing the Evolution Process
To finalize the transformation, open your main bag and navigate to the item pocket where the Auspicious Armor is stored. Select the item directly from your menu and choose to use it on the Charcadet currently in your party. Ensure you do not set Charcadet to hold the item, as it must be consumed like an evolution stone.
Upon using the Auspicious Armor, Charcadet will immediately evolve into Armarouge. Armarouge gains access to powerful signature moves such as Armor Cannon and psychic utility attacks like Psyshock. This completes the evolutionary process, providing your team with a powerful Fire and Psychic combatant.
